Winter Field Day for 2024 will be held January 27, at the site of the Old Time Farm Day, 2828 Sand Cut Rd, Greenville, AL 36037-7219.GPS coordinates 31.798075, -86.726978
Jim Bell will operate two positions this year.
The first position will be a voice station where participants will utilize a microphone and a radio to communicate with other field day sites. This position will be capable of switching to a “Morse Code” mode as requested.
The second position will be a digital station where participants will utilize a computer and radio to communicate with other field day sites. The computer will generate text messages that are transmitted by the radio.
In addition, we may have a demonstration of amateur communications via amateur satellite and/or the International Space Station. We will also gladly instruct you on operations of the Voice and Digital positions and help you make radio contacts.
So come join us for Field Day, make some contacts and find out about the exciting field of Amateur Radio. You will find out that technology can be fun and useful!
